Day of Love

This year we had a pretty low key Valentine's Day, but to be honest it couldn't have been more perfect. I was happy to just be able to spend it with Brad! Pretty much everyday feels like Valentine's Day here in the Schmidt house! We love to love. haha. I have been leaving Brad little treats for the 14 days leading up to Valentine's Day (have I mentioned I LOVE being a newlywed?!) so gifts weren't so big but he did surprise me with flowers, by making dinner, and key lime pie for dessert!

My Beautiful Roses- They are so much bigger now! I have no idea what they put in plant food but it's like miracle grow!

Brad's delicious dinner he made!

My Cutie Valentine! <3
Hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day!
I know we sure enjoyed our first one as a married couple!

Just Some Thoughts As of Late

Well first week of training at VS is done and all I got to say is it really is going to be awesome. SO much free stuff! Already came home with 2 free items. I'm not mad...although I do feel somewhat Gothic every time I get ready for work.

Husband and I had to chaperone Winter Weekend for the youth this past weekend. To say it was weird would be an understatement. At first I went all worried that some girl was going to ask Brad to dance...after all I did the same thing when I was 16 {embarrassing I know, luckily it worked out in my favor many years later}. Luckily that didn't happen. But we did get to dance a couple of times, talk about life coming full circle.

When we both made it through January without getting sick I could have sworn this year was going to be the year of good health. What a joke. Brad was sick as a dog this weekend and then I got it from him {price you pay when you like to kiss your hubby}.

Another semester of school is almost over. Time is really flying by. It kinda really scares me to think about what happens when I finish school. I love school and I will actually miss it. I'm weird. I know.

Speaking of time flying by, this past Sunday {the 10th} marked our 1 year "Engagement Anniversary". We didn't do anything to celebrate because that would be a little odd but we did bring it up which led to a conversation about life {those are my favorite by the way}. It's crazy to see how much changes in a year. We both agreed that we would have never imagined living in New York a year ago. I'm so excited to see where the life takes us next!

Hope your Valentine's Day goes absolutely Perfect!
Until next time...

...and the baby turns 18

I have no idea when it happened but it did...she grew up. Tomorrow is baby sisters 18th birthday.
I can't believe how fast she has grown up and what an incredible young lady she continues to become. Even though I am a big sister I still have so much to learn from her. Never have I met someone who is so genuinely sweet. Those who count her as a friend are so lucky because she is the best friend anyone could ask for.

While I was in Georgia, we went with her to play bingo at the assisted living home. It made me so proud to be her sister. Watching her interact with the elders almost brought tears to my eyes. They all love her and it is very obvious that she treasures her time that she spends with them and really gets to know these people. She has always been that way though, making friends with everyone she meets.

I can't wait to see what the future holds for Miss Colby, she is a great girl with a great big heart!

 Happy Birthday Colby,
I love you and miss you so much! I'm so grateful for the relationship we have and for how close we have gotten as we have grown up. I will never forget all the times we spent going to Lake Horton for our sister dates and the many nights we have stayed up talking at our sister sleepovers! Thanks for being the best!

Brad's Birthday Recap

On Wednesday Brad turned 26. It was a pretty hectic day. To say we were exhausted would be an understatement. Brad had work all day.I had a midterm I had to take. We both had mutual. Brad had a class/team meeting. Regardless of our crazy schedules I still wanted to make it a good one. So after my midterm I ran by Wegmans and picked up 26 blue balloons, candles, and a banner. I carried the balloons in and put them in the bedroom. As soon as I start getting them situated 4 of them popped. I was soooooo irritated. Anyways, I was still going to try my best to make Brad's birthday awesome. So I hung the banner, got out presents, and got his cheesecake all ready. We ordered Pizza the night before since that is Brad's favorite and we knew we wouldn't have time to go out. So we picked up the pizza and came home. Brad was so surprised with the balloons and all the decorations. We ate for like 10 minutes and were off to mutual. Then after mutual Brad had his class meeting. When I walked through the door he had gotten me flowers. That boy is so sweet, it wasn't even my birthday. We opened presents and had his cheesecake and then it was back to studying for me and Brad played with his new toys! Overall I would venture to say he had a great birthday! I love that boy and can't wait to celebrate all his birthdays with him!

Here are a few pictures from his day

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
It's snowing like crazy here so I'm pretty sure we will be staying inside and just hanging out!
